Looking for some help in trying to prove if I have a bad TCU. Problem started a month ago when I started the car and found the D4 light on all the time and the car was stuck in 2nd limp mode. Removed the tcu and replaced 2 leaking capacitors. Car ran fine for two weeks, then was not used for one week when started the same problem returned. Replaced the other 3 capacitors but problem remains. Disconnecting the battery at night and reconnecting in the morning lets the car run perfectly for about seven hours before the problem returns.
Should I buy a reman TCU or is it something else.

I would replace the TCU. Check ebay and car-part.com for sources of used TCM's. Buy one that matches exactly your part no.
