Default '92 Honda Accord

My college-age son drives a '92 Honda Accord - manual transmission. We went to visit him on campus and found out his car is making a grinding noise in the general area of the right front tire while he's moving. His roommate calls it "woot, woot". We looked at his tire, thinking it was the rotor or something rubbing against the debris guard, but all was well with his tire. We put the front end up on jacks and turned each tire independently. The driver side tire didn't make the sound, but the passenger side made the sound. It was coming from the gear box. We checked to make sure it wasn't the boot...it was sealed with no tears. Any ideas?

Inspect the wheel bearing. It may be bad.
