'93 Accord lx won't start, Help Please!!!!
I have a '93 Accord LX 2.2L that cranks over but won't start. I'll begin saying this has been an intermittent problem for the past 5 months and is now a permanent problem. I hardly have any hair left after trying to get this figured out. First, when I turn the key to the "on II" position I can hear the main relay click on and off and I can also hear the fuel pump come on for two seconds then turn off like it's supposed to. The check engine light however comes on but then stays on after the two seconds and never turns off. When this happens the car will turn over but will not start and I do not get spark at the plugs or coming out of the coil. I have replaced the plugs and wires, new distributor (due to an oil leak) which came with a new ignitor, new main relay and new ECU. I need to get this fixed soon, any help is appreciated.
If the CEL stays on, you should jump the service connector under the dash on the passenger side with a paperclip, turn the ignition to ON and read the codes.
Long flash = 10, short flash = 1
Ex. L S S S = Code 13.

Ok, I'm a little confused. I downloaded the manual from the links in the DIY section on this forum to get the wiring diagram and the manual shows the coil location is inside the distributor but the coil in my car is separate from the distributor. I double checked the VIN just to be sure and it is a '93 model year. If I'm correct the '93 is a gen-4 but the coil looks like a gen-3 coil. I have some technical ability but I'm not a tech so I hope I don't sound too much like a novice, I just want to get this right.
Also the manual shows that the white/blue wire in the ignitor is located on the top of the ignitor but I don't have a white/blue wire on the top, I have yellow/green, black/yellow and green on top and blue on the side. I don't know if there are any other wires on the other end, It's still in the distributor and I can't see the bottom end of it. I hope this will help.
That makes better sense. I'll have to try to find another manual because the one I downloaded from the links in the DIY section appear to only show the EX setup. I did check the black/yellow wire at the ignitor and it showed 12 volts on the meter, I don't know if this will give you any more helpful info on diagnosis. In the mean time I'll see if I can locate a manual for the LX model, Thanks.
