Default 93 accord starting issue

A friend of mine has a 93 accord 5 spd with 240k miles. Occasionally it wont start. He is telling me that when it does not start it is just turning over with no ck engine light. Sounds to me like a fuel problem or spark but I cant explain why it only does it occasionally unless the fuel pump is getting weak. Can it possibly be an ignition switch problem? Can someone help? Thanks J

Question

Wiggle the keys when it starts to see if there is a hesitation of some kind...

A common problem in those years is the main relay.....interior hot, will cause little cracks in the circuit board to seperate.
Mostly the situation is the car starts in the morning [cool interior] but after work the car has been sitting in the hot sun all day [hot interior] no start occurs.
Google search of honda main relay will probably give 1/2 million hits.
Beyond that, listen for the fuel pump to run 2-3 seconds when the key is turned on;
use a test light on the Black/yellow wire at the distributor plug to see power coming from the ignition switch.
You could also drop off the lower steering column shroud and look at the solder joints on the back of the ignition switch. The solder should look shiny, if one looks frosty or is melted off the contacts have overheated.
