My '93 has always shook when idling since I first got it even after tune ups and other fixes. I believe they all do it unless the idle is set too high. Setting it too high will cause other problems so I recommend setting it per the spec.

does engine miss on any 1 cylinder ?? i would chk the secondary system,,,,,( plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ) if all ok, the throttle body might be dirty , chk all the mounts,( but even if mounts are broken , that would not give you a low idle ) the timing mark is the red mark on the flex plate lined up with the pointer , if you cannot get the red mark to line up with the pointer cam timing might be off,, ...
idles rough, HC too high ,, sounds like you got a miss on the engine ...cam timing off ??

What about checking and adjusting the Idle Air Control Valve on the throttle body?

thanks all i smogged it & it failed! passed everything timing(@ 22btdc) and nox levels around 1300-1400.... so i checked all the basics! and the egr(seemed ok) and ended up replacing plugs & wires and two can of carb cleaner down its throat! and a pint in the tank!!! then went and drove it bout 30 miles ran awsome!!!! great idle no vibration!!! till i got home parked in the drive and the tach started bouncing! wtf. now it still seems too run better but im back to sq 1? i dont get it! been reading bout the 6 little egr plugs and drilling them out and cleaning'em and all that good stuff? any thoughts thanks

High NOX would point to the egr ports being plugged. Google T2T013.pdf for some instructions or the at fax on tegger.com may have some more information.

You car will run better with those ports cleaned. The EGR valve should not have vacuum when you are at idle.

Cleaning and tightening the FITV (search the forum, lost of posts about this) may eliminate the surging idle.

Also bleed any air out of the coolant system (make sure engine is cold) by removing the radiator cap and opening the bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Allow any air to spit out and shut the valve when a steady stream of coolant comes out. The top off radiator.

I thought base spark timing was more like 15 btdc. Too much spark advance will give you high NOx.
