93 corner vent question. Easy answer?

Hi all,

New here. Just picked up a '93 accord LX. I noticed that no matter what position my heat or ac vents are in that the corner vents always blow air. I'd just like to know if this is normal before I tear the dash apart.

Thanks in advance!

haven't heard of this issue before. My 86 allows air through the vents most of the time. Have you tried recirculating the air and shutting off the fan? That's what I normally do to stop the air.

It's normal. you should be able to turn it off at the vent.

Press the recirculate button on the AC controls and it should stop. All Hondas will blow a little air in if the AC is not set to recirculate.

Most cars do that afaik...

At least every car I've ever been in.

Recirculate should stop it from doing that...

My old-ass VW Rabbit actually always blew COLD air through the corner vents, and only hot air through the center vents... by design...

Thanks for the replies. The only reason i was wondering is that my 84 actually has a lever on each side below the vents for opening and closing completely, as well as the "close" on the vent it's self.

Great news, I don't have to tear the dash out :)
