94 Acc LX - A/C Expansion Tube?????
94 Accord LX 4-dr
Took the car to a mechanic/friend.
Pulled (vacuumed) out all the R134 that we had overfilled - or at least we THOUGHT we had overfilled - turns out its supposed to take up to 23oz, and we only put in 2 bottles.
The "whooshing" sound is gone, but the system will not circulate the R-134. Compressor IS working.
Low pressure is reading 0, even when the R-134 is replaced, but high pressure also drops to 0 when compressor initiates.
Mechanic is wondering if its the expansion valve assembly (if there is something clogging it).
Any suggestions on how to narrow that down?

OoooppSS!!! Thats compressor, not condensor! So everything SEEMS to initiate to circulate the R-134, but its just not circulating.
And if its NOT the expansion valve, how do we find out which tubes it would be? Its there a way to diagnose this?

Is the compresssor clutch plate engaging and turning? If not, no cooling can be obtained and an electrical problem is likely.
If compressor is engaging, but shutting down (Hi/Lo cutout switch will disable if too low), then a blockage is likley. Was receiver/drier replaced? Check for a cold receiver/drier. This would indicate big pressure drop across reciever/drier and blockage.
You may have to pull the evaporator and replace expansion valve if blockage is not in the receiver/drier.
good luck
