94 accord abs light no brake pressure
i got a code 1 and 8 i dont really understand what they are after seeing them any help greatly appreciated

So does the brake pedal go to the floor?
Here's how to read the flashing-lamp codes... Long flash - not part of the code. Short flashes = first digit short pause Short flashes = second digit long pause next code, or repeat of the same code The reason I explained that, is I suspect(?) that you have a code 1-8, which isn't 2 separate codes. Is there fluid in the ABS reservoir? How about the brake fluid reservoir? Possibly you need to bleed them both to remove air from the 2 systems. https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...systems-31259/ |
One short flash 8 short flashes and if I try and brake it goes to the floor and the wheels lock up but it doesn't really brake much
|
Yes there's fluid as well
|
I'd bleed the brakes and bleed the ABS system.

ok i have good pressure on my front driver side and rear passenger but not my front right wheel or rear left wheel i can spin the wheel by hand on those 2 wheels while the brake is on im sure theres air in the lines so i tried to bleed them had a friend pump the brakes 3 times and hold then i bleed it tightened it back up did that for 10 mins nothing every time i break the little valve loose it drips out fluid not squirt out like it should im stumped

Can you pump the pedal and get brakes to lock on the RF & LR wheels?
If not, then it probably isn't as simple as air in the system. Part of the system plugged up with corrosion? How long has it been since fresh brake fluid? |
Ya I can get them to stop when I pump them twice and clean fluid comes out the other two and I bought the car with this problem thinking it was a easy fix
|
Your bleeder plugs can become choked w/ rust/dirt and will not allow bleeding. Remove and clean w/ fine wire.
good luck |
I'm thinking the master cyl is gone? It is a diagonal system so one of the "lines" from the master is not getting pressure, pedal goes to the floor............
For now the "abs" is a distraction. I'd address it later by bleeding the abs unit as a start. |
