94 accord ex varying vibration
ive gotten my hands dirty on quite a few hondas ranging from a bone stock chick owned 97 honda civic lx to a 95 civic ex with a d15b t3/t4 hybrid turbo intercooled. know my way around a car fairly well. but this one has me COMPLETELY stumped.
i recently traded my 1999 ford ranger xlt for this 1994 accord ex 5 speed with an f22 block fitted with an h22 head (correct me if i'm wrong beleive its called by most the "g22" or the frankenstein) and the guy who did this seemed to know what he was doing because the engine runs smooth as butter minus the check engine light and the high idle 1250 rpm due to the fact that the ecu is programmed to run rich for a turbo that used to be on the car. vtech is tuned at 4000rpm. several aftermarket parts. skunk2 coilovers all around, aftermarket intake/cone, aftermarket intake manifold, 2 step launch control, stage 2 clutch, lowered sitting on 18" ADR rims. all interior speakers replaced, sunroof, power everything sounded like a great trade right. just this vibration i gotta fix.....
brand new rotors, brake pads because they were warped badly, found a bad wheel bearing front passenger side, replaced it. got a bad upper ball joint passenger side front about to replace both sides soon as i get a day off.
basically i'm tired of just replacing things. i need help before i start really tearing into this thing to find out its a motor mount or something really really simple that i might have overlooked.
its still got the same vibration but over the course of 2 months its been getting worse. the vibration varies in severity. the only constants i can find are that when its cooler it doesn't vibrate as much (like the initial morning drive to school is gravy nice and smooth most of the time) but when it heats up in the day it gets worse along with the longer i drive it. i can feel it in the steering wheel here lately its been during braking too and sometimes it gets bad enough to where it shakes the whole car. braking and accelerating tend to make it sometimes better sometimes worse sometimes no effect very random. sometimes it will go away sometimes i deal with it for a whole drive. typically this only happens in the 45-75 mph range 60 to 65 mph being the peak of the severity. Pushing the clutch in makes no difference so i know its not rpm related. feels to be coming from the front passenger side which also has a squeak in the suspension. i know what a bad ball joint feels like in a 1999 ford ranger but this is beyond me.
any help on anything about this car would be greatly appreciated. i love everything about the car but i'm afraid that the severity of the vibration at times is going to seriously damage something. PLEASE HELP!

This is complicated, because you have some rare modifications done to your engine/ECU.
The 96 ECU is OBD2. Did the person who installed the ECU wire in an OBD2 connector that can hook up to any scanner? If yes, then stop by a parts store and have them scan for codes.

i'm sorry about this frankenstein i know it makes it hard for you guys and i really appreciate all the help
and i must apologize again i gave u guys the wrong information the ecu is a P28 from a 92/95 OBD1 Civic Si/Ex so we can safely assume he lied to me or i misheard him. in any sense ill check the diy forum and see what i come up with. quick question. what if it has multiple codes?
could the fact that the check engine light is on cause the car to have this "variable vibration?"

ran the codes for it heres what i got and man is this car starting to be a real headache....
14-IAC defective circuit or unplugged/defective sensor
22-VTEC oil pressure switch defective circuit or unplugged/defective oil pressure switch
41-primary oxygen sensor-heater circuit malfunction
isn't that ecu designed for a d16z6? what would be the differences if any or do i need to repair/replace all of these problems? vtech kicks in at 4000 rpm could this be why it idles at 1.25 and why the car is running rich?
