94 Accord Ignition Switch

I have a 94 Honda Accord EX. I'm trying to replace ignition switch and in so doing have done something such that car will no longer start! Turing key provides no power to anything!.....all i did was remove 2 screws that hold ignition switch in place and then put 2 screws back in switch cover and now it won't even turn over....It does have factory installed anti-theft so I'm wondering if I have to reset it?

I would start by checking the fuses.

I checked the main 50a and it was ok......Note that there is NO power when I turn key to anything e.g. radio, fan, nor starter...

What other fuses?

The #1 fuse (10 amp) in the under dash fuse box.

Also check that you got the electrical connector for the ignition switch plugged in securely.

I do not have power on any pin on IS connector!
Will trace back tomorrow...

If you figure out what the issue is please post your solution.

Do you have power to your dome light??

1 Attachment(s)
If the white is not hot (12v to ground) at all times.....then yes trace it back.

Also check that all the electrical connectors at the fuse box (front and back) are firmly in place. I recall someone on this forum having an ignition switch electrical problem that later turned out to be one of the connectors not firmly locked in place.

Dome light works....Doug in under dash and found a mess: prior owner put in a remote start! So there are wires and splices and in-line fuses all over...I quit for awhile as it was overwhelming!

This morning after chasing power back I found that in fact the 50a fuse had blown...I replaced fuse and reassembled all and now everything works....so I'm back to wear I started!! If I end up needing an electrical Ig Sw, I can now do in about 10 min. :)

Note on the sheared bolts: I used a chisel and hammer to loosen [one tap] and then fingered out and did reverse when reassembling...

PS... I also now know how to 'hot-wire'.....

tx all of you for help
frank
