ok, i hear you, but how would that explain putting a new bulb in, it working fine forr a short while and then not?

 

Loss of contact of bulb terminals to fixture contacts. Too loose contact leading to loss of contact. Did you inspect the bulb fixture?

Another possibility is damaged connection of wire to bulb fixture.

Check bulb in other side. If it works, you know fixture is the problem.
