Default 95 ex help

I have a 95 ex coup with the 4 cyl vtec. It is an auto with 105,000 miles. I have a ss 2.5" cat back, a honed out throttle body, and a 3" intake tube to an open air cone element. I have recently tuned it up with a new cap/rotor/plug and wires. i have installed bosch platinum with wires. I have changed all fluids and have done so since new every 3000 miles. It also just got a new O2 sensor.

question: I have been experiencing an intermittent engine misfire from aprox 1200-1800 rpm, only in d4,d3. I cannot replicate it in park. It comes with a bogging down and I just push the pedal past 2000 to get rid of it. This problem became prevalent after the old exhaust got a huge hole in it, and has been present with the new one as well. I checked the fluid level in the trans and it is fine as is the color. I have reset the car by disconnecting battery for 10 minutes. I cant stand this since i have done a couple of things to help its limpwristed performance. please help. thanks

95 EX 4 cyl, auto I assume and you have a hesitation just below 2K rpm's. Is it a hesitation or mis fire? If it is a hesitation, read thru the DIY on EGR port cleaning. Does this only happen when the car is warm (normal op temp).

The hesitation, misfire happens at all times warm or cold and in both d3, d4. I will try to attempt this by the weekend so if I dont reply soon, plz forgive me. I thank the both of you.

No problem. I just re-read this, devil in the details, and you replaced the plugs with Bosch...I've never had an issue (I have always used NGK-just reg old v grove plugs like came from the factory) but I have seen posts where others have had an issue with other brands...not say that is it but something to think about.

Default it worked

The EGR port cleaning worked. OMG, thank you so much. Wow was that **** dirty, all ports but one was filled and the plate was a plugged up mess. It took me 1/2 hr from start to finish with those perfect instructions. Since the fuel rail was so easy to get off, could a higher performance be had with higher lb injectors? Also, I was @ an AutoZone to get the Bosch plugs, otherwise I was running a slightly hotter NGK with performance wires (8.8) and just wanted to replace both since they hadn't gotten replaced in 60,000 miles. I may put a header on the car to eek out a few more ponies but I think I have reached my limits unless an aftermarket intake manifold is available. Thank you Hondadude and poorman.

DO NOT USE BOSH PLUGS!! honda don't like them. That is most likely your prob. ONLY USE NGK pugs

Good to hear it worked out...too many times you never know, so thanks for posting the end of the story...if others ever search for the same issue they will know what worked.

As far as the plugs...if strange things in the ign system come around soon or in the near future...they would be the first thing I would think about..again, thanks.
