My 96 has a cracked block. I'm looking at replacen the moter and doing it myself. I need to know if a 92 2.2 liter accord moter will mount, if the electrical plugs will match, and if I need to swap the computer??? Plz I need help asap!!!

 

The 96 is OBD2, so you will run into problems with some sensors being in different locations. The 92 engine would mount in your engine bay, but there is some difference between the drivers motor mount.

The 96/97 2.2L engines are identical. You will want an EX donor for an EX accord (F22B1 engine). The LX/DX are identical with the F22B2 engine.

You can search for engines on a site called car-part.com. It searches junkyards that subscribe to that service, and you can sort by price or distance.

To make the repair easier, I suggest getting an identical engine (96/97). The 94/95 engine will work, but you need to transfer the oil pump and gears from your engine to the 94/95. We can give you more details if you got a 94/95 engine.
