Default 96 Accord Runnining hot after water pump

Hey Guy's
I'm haveing a bit of an issue with my 96. I recently changed the waterpump and followed the book and others instructions to the Letter. Yesterday drove home around 35 mlles pulled up to my mail box to read somthing. I glanced down at the gauge to see that it was hotter than normal. Not sure what happened but suspect she may be air bound?? The thermostat was new a couple months ago so that's out... Any ideas?
Thanks

Try bleeding the coolant system, you may have some trapped air in the system.

I have in fact I followed the instructions and bleed air at the goose neck then I let it run until the t-stat opened. Not sure what way to go from there?

Were the fans on the rad running when the temp got high?

Faulty thermostat seems a possibility. Was this an OEM thermostat? OEM's work noticeably better than aftermarket, more precise temp, and much faster warmup.

good luck
