96 lx manual transmission question

whenever i coast in gear my car makes like a squeling sound, but if i coast in neutral it wont. what can this be?

When you coast in neutral, are you pressing down the clutch pedal or not?

It only does this when I'm in gear and off the gas

If you are pressing on the clutch like JimBlake asked, then your clutch throw out bearing is probably going bad. If you are not pushing the clutch in it could be a vacuum leak or something else.
