Default 98 Accord

I totaled my car earlier this week and was wanting to drain the gas tank. I don't see a drain plug and was wondering what the fastest method for this was?

Drop the tank and turn it upside down and dump it out through the access hole.

All the bolts for the access hole are stripped. I tried to remove that and siphon it through there. No luck. I tried to tap into the fuel line under the hood as well. Only way that works is if I keep the motor cranking

Well then I guess dumping $20 of gasoline out of your tank will be difficult.

If the fuel pump and ignition switch assy are intact, you could pump the tank empty by routing fuel supply line under hood to a catch tank. you will need some proper hoses to extend the fuel supply line.

Someone will have to hold the key in Start position to force the fuel pump to run. You'll need to disable starter.

good luck

Do you want to salvage the tank itself? Or do you simply need to drain it before the crusher will take it? Just punch a hole in the bottom of the tank with a nail or something like that.
