98 Accord, no 2nd gear, help
new guy here, I have a 98 Accord EX. its an auto. there is no 2nd gear whatsoever. it will shift into 2nd but it feels like neutral. all the other gears work fine. so far I have changed the shift solenoid B on the trans but that didn't help. does anyone know what voltage is going to the solenoids so I can check if the TCM is doing what its supposed to? or maybe some kind of better troubleshooting method?
thanks!

Check whether there are any OBD1 trans codes even if D4 light is not blinking. Short service check connector and read flashing D4 light. Some trans codes don't set the D4 light flashing, but are caused by simple electrical faults. I know this was true until 97 model, but not sure about 98.

Your car is OBD II, so you would have to stop by an autozone and have them read the codes. Post on here (P####). You can also find a lot of info by just by a google search with the code and your car.
As I said, I don't know for sure that 98 has obd1. In earlier models the two wire connnector is plugged into a dummy blue plastic holder along w/ another plug. The blue plastic holder is pinned to the cross brace that supports the glove box. Unplug the 2-wire connector by pinching and pulling to remove from holder.
There is a DIY instruction on extracting codes, but in summary; short two wires w/ paper clip, etc; turn keyswitch to ON, and read flashes of the Check Engine Light (long flash = 10's digit, short flash= units digit, and short pause between 1st-2nd digits. Example F-p-f = 11. There may be more than one code which will be separated bya 4-5 sec pause between codes, or same code will repeat 3 times.

W/O an OBD1 connector, you will have to purchase or borrow an OBD2 code reader. They can be purchased inexpensively in US, not sure about Guam. Once you have codes, put them in a response to the forum and someone will help.
