Default '99 2.3 vtec overheating

Engine overheated with guage needle going to end of red zone. Stopped car and heater hose burst. Replaced heater hoses, radiator cap, thermostat and radiator was replaced about 3 years ago.

Engine light is on, car is still overheating. Didn't bleed the system yet, but not hopedul it's that simple. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Suggest a new thermostat. This may have been why it overheated in first place.

Check radiator cap is not releasing fluid into overflow at too low pressure (usually replace radiator cap).

Is radiator overflowing w/ gas bubbles when car overheats? If yes, the head gasket may have been damaged by overheating accident.

good luck
