99 2.3l Fly wheel replacement
I need to know how to replace the flywheel. I've searched and haven't found anything about replacing it. If anyone can give me a walk through or post a link to a walk through. Also I know on older vehicles they have a starter ring that can be replaced, would my accord have a starter ring?

Well after the trans comes out, it is kind of easy. If you are going tht far in I wouldn't even think about the ring (yes the older ones could be replaced, don't even know if they offer this anymore). Get a new one, prices have come way down on these in the aftermarket.
Now I have to ask "why" are you doing this?

Hello..
There is not flywheel on the honda automatics. There is a flex plate (or drive plate) that bolts the the crankshaft, and then the torque converter bolts to that. The ring gear is on the torque converter. It doesn't look like you can get the ring gear from honda without the converter.
Thanks
Anthony

I just searched Ebay for your flywheel. Aftermarket flywheel/clutch kits are available for $170, or the flywheel alone for around $75. Since you have to remove the trans to get to the flywheel, I would replace the clutch, maybe the slave cylinder as well.

I gotta agree with Bigpat on this one. Replace anything in that area that requires you to take out the trans. A clutch kit does not cost as much when you get one that comes with a flywheel in the kit. You have a 1999 so I would change out the slave cylinder as well.
The best walk through in my opinion is the haynes manual that you can purchase at Advance Auto Parts, Napa, Standard Parts, Auto Zone, etc etc.
Its really not as difficult as people think that it may be. Its not "easy" but its not super difficult. But I would bet that if you have a Haynes manual
Honda Accord Repair Manual covering all models for 1998 thru 2002
and a good set of tools that you could do it.
