Default 99 5-speed accord throttle delay

When I shift my 5 speed 99 accord lx my throttle doesn't snap closed the the way I'd like it too. Is there an adjustment for this? Lube/replace cable? New return spring? Just the way it is?

Thanks, Al

Check for crud in the throttle cable. Otherwise, it may be intentional (especially if you have the ULEV engine).

Thanks, I'll try that. The throttle cable was the first place I was going to look. BTW it is just the standard VTEC.

I had a 98 4-cyl VTEC (non-ULEV), but it was auto tranny. I never noticed any hesitation when closing the throttle.

However, the engine generates a LOT of emmissionswhen you suddenlylift-throttle (when shifting).Honda may have done something cleverwith the IACV to minimize this.
