Default 99 accord ignition switch!! HELP NEWBIE!

my ignition switch finally gave out today completely to the point where the car wont turn on at all,all the lights turn on but the car doesnt make a sound when i turn the key,i replaced the switch thinking that was the only problem but its still not turning on,i checked all the fuses and they are all fine,i believe i have a short somewhere but have no clue what to look for or where to look for it?another thing is when i try to turn the car on i can see a spark inside the ignition switch and im not sure if thats normal,i know this year accord was in the recall for the ignition switch but im not sure if that included the key cylinder

heres a picture of my old ignition switch.

What is happening when you turn the key to start the car? Does the starter start working to crank the engine?

If you have a volt meter, have an assistant turn the key to the start position and hold it there. Test to see if you have 12V between the small wire going to the starter and body ground. I like to use a valve cover bolt for ground.

I am confused. It should be either around 12V, or zero volts. What reading did you get?

if you can see spark in the ign switch when trying to start the car ,, I would recheck the work that you just did,,
Also,, have you checked battery cable for tightness and corrotion ??
apply direct power from battery to starter solenoid wire see if car cranks then ,, getting power at solenoid??
