Default 99 accord v6 odd rpm drops midrange

My accord ( 237k miles) has started half stalling at low to mid RPms.

When taking off, around 2k, it will act like it is going to stall, RPms drop rapidly, acts like it died. I hit the gas and it recovers briefly. At RPms higher the 2000-2500 it runs ok. Basically ran in 3rd gear to get home.

It idles ok, maybe a slight wobble in RPm. In park , if I hold rpm at 2000, after a few seconds, RPms will steadily drop to almost zero, it will sputter, then jump back up to 2000rpm, few seconds later, it will steadily drop again, etc.

It has had plugs replaced a few thousand miles back, as well as cap and rotor.

No trouble codes returned, which I think is odd... Any suggestions or pointing in right direction. Would be greatly appreciated.

I think V6s suffer from the same symptoms as four cylinder cars when the EGR port(s) are clogged: sputtering/cutting out when warm, under load, at ~ 2000 rpm. But I've never heard of those symptoms revving the engine in neutral, as I think you're describing. Regardless, Eric the Car Guy has a V6 EGR port cleaning video on youtube. Wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the reply
I have done the egr port cleaning before. Though I do not recall the same issues that I am having now...so I have been keeping port cleaning on side burner until I troubleshoot more. As weird as it s acting I am surprised it has not thrown a code...

OK, probably not EGR. I know nothing of V6's but considering:

In park, if I hold rpm at 2000, after a few seconds, RPms will steadily drop to almost zero, it will sputter, then jump back up to 2000rpm, few seconds later, it will steadily drop again, etc.
I guess it sounds like a fuel problem to me, especially the "steadily" part. If it were ignition I'd think it would cut-out sporadically. Fuel pressure OK?

I have not checked fuel pressure. But will see if I can check it soon.

If fuel pressure issue though, wouldn't it get worse as the engine demanded more fuel at higher rpm?

Yeah, it would. I think I might open up the air filter, have a helper hold the engine to 2000 rpm and, when it starts its slowing down routine, squirt some ether in the intake to see if it straightens out. I think that would rule out fuel and indicate spark or spark timing as the problem.

Checked a few items today ( did not have any ether to sqrirt in the intake)

It was still acting up, tried gas pedal in different positions. Engine would go to certain rpm, hold there for a few seconds, then drop approx 1000-1500 rpm, stumble around, then recover to original rpm.
Depending on how far I had the pace, down, the high and low rpm be raised accordingly, but the rpm drop would be the same

Messed around with this for a while, then magically the issue went away. Not sure if I have happy or not, since I did not really fix anything.

Iac valve seems ok ( unplugged connector and rpm change by a few hundred.)

Tried the ether test, it seemed to pick up when I gave t a squirt.
Changed the fuel pump and screen. Problem remains, though maybe not as frequent. I am wondering if I got a batch of bad gas, or maybe moisture in gas?

Issue seems to happen now short, after started when cold, then a random intervals when warm. I drove it for about 25 minutes yesterday. Issue happened twice during that time.
