So . Ive gotten my first Honda, and I think I'm in way over my head. I did not fully understand what the previous owner did but now I do and I'm looking for any information.. I have an f22a6 engine dropped into where an f22a1 was. The previous owner installed it with the A1 intake ECU and wiring that was with the car.
I have done many many things but I'm on my third set of plugs ( fuel fouled) and I have driven zero miles. Is there any hope for this Frankenstein or is the only way forward an a6 intake/harness/ECU or a1 block? I don't care a bit about 15 hp lost or gained. I just want a running 5 speed wagon.
When it's running I seem to have trouble getting above 3 thousand rpms, ( or it's possible the rpms are not displaying correctly) and it seems to be running extremely rich, I'm also getting codes 5 and 15.
I'm on my second eBay ECU (a02 and a05 vs the original A10) as I've been told I will ALWAYS get a check engine light on start up. The original ECU never shows check other other two do. Is that indictive of a bad ECU or do I have bad Intel? I haven't thrown in the towel. I have a replacement map I'm going to try.
Basically I'm wondering if this is a losing battle or not.
You need to be clearer on the parts that are in the car as I don't understand what was swapped.
Provide what you current car originally was, like 1993 wago 4-cyl manual transmission LX/DX/EX. Then let us know the the same donor vehicle(s) information for the block/cylinder head/ECU.
Once we have an idea of the setup, we can give you some advice on the next steps.

The car is a 1991 accord lx originally equipped with a f22a1.
it was swapped by the previous owner with a f22a6 mated block and head.
The intake manifold, wiring, and ECU are f22a1.
I think the F22A6 has slightly different cams vs the F22A1, but i think this setup should work.
Lets start simple. A code 5 is for the map sensor or sensor circuit. On the 94-97 accords the map and the tps sensors had identical connectors and they are very close to each other where it is easy to switch them. From a non-US shop manual, the map sensor wire colors should be wht/blu, blu/wht, and red/wht. The TPS wires should be yel/wht, red/blk, and grn/wht. Verify the wires colors on your vehicle and make sure those connectors aren't accidentally swapped. Switch if they are.
