ABS code 1-8 is "high-pressure system" in my list. Kinda vague...

I don't remember whether that's one where you would try bleeding the ABS fluid just to see if that helps. When's the last time you bled fresh brake fluid and ABS brake fluid?

Um. . .never. . .

It's not on consistently, probably about 50% of the time. Where did you go to find the codes?

Thanks!

I used to own a 95 Integra and the code list was in the Helm shop manual. I'm pretty sure the code list is the same across different Honda cars, until 1998 when they changed to a completely different ABS system. Your ABS system has it's own fluid reservoir, right?

Correct. My ABS system does have a reservoir. . .how does one change the fluid?

Thanks for the link. I have also noticed that my ABS pump seems to be running a lot - at initial startup, and then every 10 to 15 minutes while the car is running, possibly more frequently. Could this be a sign that the ABS unit is going bad? If so, how difficult is the unit to replace??

This picture of the ABS unit doesn't really show what's in the way. What do you have to remove before you can get to this? The real difficulty comes when you remove all the hydraulic lines. How's the state of corrosion where you live?

There's an O-ring at the accumulator (#23) & another at the pump (#24). You have to lift the ABS unit to reach the bolts to remove those; besides fluid would leak if those were the problem. Got any leaking fluid?

I don't believe that there is any leading fluid, as I have never needed to add any. . .

I'm beginning to think that the whole unit may need to be replaced. Does this make sense?
