There are two wires behind the socket, test those and follow this procedure.

Oh, and here is the wire diagram.....agian why we would lean towards the socket having and issue.......and I'm going to guess you used a "known good" adapter in both? I only ask as serveral of us chased an issue a while back and it turns out the adapter was bad...........

You found the issue.....be happy. Yes, I've done the same thing before.....part of playing with cars.

Been chasing a brake light issue (89 LXi).......Everytime I looked at them they were all working......what the heck? Finally this Saturday the light came on and I checked them - for the 100th time - and saw the left/drivers brake on the trunk lid wasn't working......new bulb and life has been great since.

Yeah, that penny wasn't worth a dime.

I'm having a problem with my 06 socket as well. I don't think my LX comes with one in the console. I just bout it use on Monday with 121,000 miles on it. I checked every fuse and they all checked good. I even swapped out the #9 even though it tested good. Any idea of how to test the sockets or how to even get it out?

If the fuses are good (#9 & #32) and you are not getting power to the socket, check/test the relay.

I know this is an old post, but where is the relay? I'd like to bypass the relay to allow both of the power plugs stay live with the ign off. I already verified that the fuse is live constant, but the relay must kill the power... Bypass it, problem solved.....
