Question Accord Radio Security Code Input

I have a 2007 Accord EX-L, 4 cylinder. The battery died. I replaced it and naturally the radio will not work without inputting the security code. My owner's manual directs me to input the code using the Preset Button. However, there are 6 preset buttons. Every time I try to input the security code I get an error message, no matter which Preset Button I try! The owner's manual seems woefully short on explaining this. Can anyone help me?

If you have the radio code, enter the code using the preset button number as the key pad. If it was 123456, just hit those preset numbers in that order to enter the code.

If this is similar to my older accord, you don't have to wait for a sound when you hit the number.

I tried that. Just kept getting error messages!

Funny timing I just had to do the same thing just yesterday in my 2009. It worked fine for me, are you sure your typing in the correct code number?

Smile Accord Radio Security Code Input

Yep, the code was put in correctly. However, I did get the problem straightened out. Went to the dealership where I bought the car and had someone in Maintenance do it for me. They input the code and bingo it worked! The only thing different was that they didn't have the car running (I did), they just turned the ignition key to on and input the code. All I know is that when I'm near any kind of electrical system or machine they frequently go wacko (street lights blow out, photo machines at Target and WalMart malfunction, etc., etc.). Go figure.

Thanks to all for your attempts to help.
