Unhappy Advice/ Help please on my 2004 Honda Accord

Hello all,

Long story short, I let my 2004 Honda Accord sit all winter with no gas in the tank. Three to four months later I go to put a little gas in it and it was running rough and the check engine light was blinking. Took it to a couple places and they both said ALL 6 cylinders was misfiring..

I thought spark plugs. replaced them and the car was still acting the same. Thought I needed to get some good gas in it so I put a thing of heat inside the tank. 5 bucks in premium gas and some unleaded.

Drove it around. Started to act better as the new gas was running through it. Sometimes it would be doggish / run rough and one minute it had it's power back and felt fine.

I took it to the store the other day and when I left - I barley made it back home cause it was making a clunking noise and then I probably had my foot all the way down on the gas peddle and it would literally go about 4 to 5 Mph.

What is everyone's opinion on the problem with my 04 Honda Accord ex 6 cylinder?? HELP!

I am still making payments on the car and can not afford to pay to much to a mechanic to find out what is wrong. So I came here first!

Thank you guys so much. Robbie

I'd guess your engine has lost at least two coils; unplug one at a time and/or move them around and track which ones aren't firing.

WELCOME!
I'll move this to General Tech. The "help" place where you posted is for help with the website - not help with any car.
