Default air/fuel gauge help!!!!

i installed an air/fuel gauge in my 02 accord. i followed the instructions to the t. when i connected the signal wire to the o2 sensor, my engine light came on and wont go off? also the gauge will only read rich but then when i hit the gas hard, then it would read optimal but when i start to let off it goes back to rich anyone no why this is or do i have it hooked up wrong or what?

make sure all connections are tight and double check your wiring... it sounds like something's wired up funky.

Default RE: air/fuel gauge help!!!!

you wired it wrong. i think you clipped the connection that goes to the computer which is critical to the operation of your car and for the accuracy of the guage. it is too rich because now you have no o2 sensor hooked up to the motor (which is why the check engine light is on) so the computer went in to limp mode, which sets the a/f to full rich, and the timing to fully advanced. the a/f guage needs to be hooked up INLINE with the connection that runs to the motor, it is not supposed to take over that connection. use one of those little blue squishy connectors, they work pretty well for this kind of project.

again, the o2 sensor is a very important sensor for the ecu, it needs to know the reading that the sensor is giving at all times. hope this helps please let us know how it goes
