Default Anone modify their 2008-2010 seats large LUMBAR lump?

I read from a couple in here that they too have hurting backs from the large lumbar support lump in the 2008-2010 driver seat back. I am considering finding an automotive upholstery shop to see if they can add a piece of foam in the upper portion of the seat to lessen the hugeness of the lumbar lump. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I just got a 2012 accord ex-l and I am in pain from the lumbar in the seats. If I pull the headrest forward, I reduce the pressure on my lower back and it feels better. I am thinking of buying and jamming a bunch of foam in there to soften the blow to my back.

Thanks for the info on the seat modification and link to the closed thread on how to modify the lumbar. I was about 2 days away from loosing thousands of dollars from trading the car back in after 2000 miles when I removed the lumbar support. Immediately I felt a relief and will now keep the car. The modification took a total of about 15 minutes for my 2012 EX V6. It's a life saver.... Thanks again.

I removed the support from my seat, but with no lumbar I was worried that the leather and stitching would be too stressed and it would ripe open. Did you put anything back in there to take the stress off the seat upholstery?

I didn't have leather seats with the EX V6.... So I can't help you there. I also have a 2012 EXL with leather seats but the seat does not cause any problems like this one did.

Intresting, since I taught both seats had the same internals, just different upholstery. So the 2012 EX V6 is uncomfortable and the 2012 EX-L is fine?

I am sure the seats are made the same.... But I have driven several accords (EXL and SE) and they were all better than the seat I had.... I drove the EXL on a few trips that took several hours and didn't have any issues with the seats.... But driving my car before the lumbar was removed would have me in pain within 15 minutes.... Not fun when I spend 2-3 hours commuting....

I have only driven the SE and EXL. Maybe the leather is a little thicker than the cloth. It would soften the blow to the back a little. Since there is ZERO padding between the back plate and the leather.

Default 2012 Accord

Lumbar support had back pains since I bought the car in march 2012. Was trying to figure out why after buying this car the back pain started. After reading forums on the accord and took apart the lower bracket on the back support no more back pain after one week.
