ANOTHER spark plug wire question.
OK, so I know Honda parts are great. However they cost over double what a basic set of spark plug wires cost at O'Rieleys. I THINK I fixed a plug tube leak problem and would like to also change the spark plug wires as they are 11 years and 180,000 miles old. This is just a daily driver/grocery getter, nothing fancy. Will these basic plug wires be ok or are they just a problem waiting to happen?
I don't even know if my plug wires are bad, but with their age and recent "oil bath" I think it would behoove me to change them out. I figure a new set of generics will run better than an ancient honda set will. Am I off base?
Thanks in advance guys.

wires can be checked by carefull examining the physical condition of the wires and checking their resistance. I don't know what the resistance should be, you can look it up.
When multiple folks with long time experience with these cars recommend a certain replacement part, you can be sure that part will provide better value as well as better performance. You can always save money in the short term.

Well the Honda wire setsusually last 10 years.
The aftermarket "Super Blue" set that came with my Toyota truck started arcing out after a year. I replaced them with OEM and have 4 years on them now.
So for 1/2 the cost you can replace the Aftermarkets every couple years and wind up spending 4 times as much in the long run, and have all the fun of doing the work over and over again.
