auto to manual swap and now no start....
So I swapped my 1992 lx to a manual trans. I have not been able to get it to start as of yet, It will crank and get fuel but no spark. I have so far discovered it is throwing a code fifteen and twenty, I have replaced the main relay and tested the coil and ignition control module, both were good. I have also tried three different ecu and still no spark. I am at a loss with this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Also does any ne know how to by pass the neutral safety switch so i can disconnect the auto shifter and it will still crank?

There is a tiny yest very important ground on the t-stat housing - please check that it is clean an tight.
|
I removed it and cleaned and replaced it to no avail, I then relocated it to the trans and still nothing
|
Ok, it is one of those things that gets missed sometimes when this kind of work is done.
As you know the 15 is ignition output, I was hoping the ground would cure this. So we need to start testing the dist and the inputs/outputs. Is the BLK/YEL hot when the key is to on/pos II? |
OK I'll have to check that, I do know that the dizzy worked when pulled, the entire engine trans ecu and harness all came from a running driving car. I did notice something odd tho, there was a wire tapped into the blue wire going into the distributor that I removed during the swap any ideas?
|
I have figured out the blue wire is tach signal, this wirebeing possibly bad or shorted some where wouldnt cause this right and i do have power to the yellow/ black wire
|
Sorry, we must have lost contact with this thread.
Are you still stuck or have you got it now? |
Still stuck. I have no idea as to what's happening and its driving me mad I want this car to run again sooo bad

Check your fuses. Specifically, check the No. 2 (15A) fuse located in the under-dash fuse box.
|
You also have a code 20, which is the electric load detector.
Is the new engine/transmission from an LX, DX, or EX? |
