Default Auto transmission help please!!

I have a 2000 Honda Accord 2.3l, I put in a used transmission and had zero drivability. I replace shift solenoid A and B. right now when I drive it goes from first and then into second then it immediately locks up in second gear. Also when I put in reverse it takes a split second and thuds into reverse. just curious as to if anybody has an experience with it just straight up locking up in second gear. Thank you for any help, I'm desperate to fix this.

What do you mean by locking up in second gear? Is the transmission staying in second gear and not shifting to 3rd (or 1st)? Or is the transmission not driving the wheels when it shifts into second gear?

The car shifts from 1st to 2nd. Once in 2nd the car jerks immediately to a stop and stays in second, I accelerated hard once and the car barely moved. Sometimes the car dies if I leave it in 2nd, definitely doesn't go to 3rd from 2nd. I've replaced the fluid and it's at the correct level too

This sounds like an internal transmission issue with the 2nd gear clutch pack or some hydraulic issue.

You can try checking for codes that could point you into another direction like a pressure switch that is a simpler fix. You would need an obd2 code reader.

With that year model it's better to get a reman than to get a used one. 9 times out of 10 the used one will be bad and the money you spend replacing will be more than getting a reman or having yours rebuilt

Yeah, only got the p0730, incorrect gear ratio. Pretty generic code. I bought it last year, was Soo busy took me 6 months to put it in. So any warranty would be expired. Just wanted to see if keeping replacing solenoids would be a good idea, but I think your right it might be internal. Thanks for the feedback guys, definitely gave me some good points

Default Did you resolve?

Hi mate just wanting to know if you resolved this issue as I have just done a transmission swap and are having the exact same problem. Went from a mcja trans to a m6ha transmission. 1st is okay and second locks up completely.
I am still running the mcja tcm as the plugs are different to the m6ha computer and wondering if this could be the case?
