Default Automatic Transmission Question Please

My 1998 V-6 Coupe is starting to hunt for gears and the torque convertor is slamming a bit. What should do first? Change fluid? Take it to the dealer? Take it to the transmission shop? Burn it? Thanks Guys!

Changing the fluid would be the cheapest option. Easy to DIY.
As I'm sure you have seen on this forum, the 98-02 Auto tranny's were a bit of a problem child. I fear your trans may be SOL, but I would first try to change fluid & replace with something that may help a bit. I've seen a few posts, but nothing comes to mind right now.

Thanks 00AccordLX5spdfor the reply and I hope this is an easy fix but I think it's not going to be. If anyone else knows of a miracle cure I sure could use one here. The paint fell off this car a year ago and I had it repainted, spent alot on that and this car is starting to become a money pit.
