Default bad vibes

ok, here's the skinny of it...one day after riding around the interstate (revin to 6.5k through each gear) I noticed a bit of a vibration whenever I'd be in the vicinity of 60-70 mph. around 75 the vibe lightens up, and then "disappears" around 85, also smooth as glass under 55, gradually worsening as I accellerate, regardless of what gear I'm in. a couple of days of driving with that vibe, my left tire had a chunk missing out of the center tread, probably about 1/4 inch long. I have changed out the right cv joint, and replaced the joint boots that I knew to be bad, though I never really felt the vibes in the steering wheel. My motor mounts seem good, so I'm leaning towards the left CV, but I'd kinda like to be sure before I dump another $100 into it (got urethane bushings and didn't take in right side core since that didn't fix the prob) I know I'm gonna need to buy 2 new tires atleast too, oh goody joy!!! P.S I also tried the ignition route, new cap, wires, button (plugs only had a month on them and they looked fine still) everything I did seemed to help for like 5 seconds, then right back to the old habits, I'm starting to get kinda desperate right now[&o] thanks guys and gals

unbalanced or bad tires. if there is a chunk missing from your tire then that is definately the problem

Bingo! I'd go for a tire issue.... I had a grand am that did a similar thing and it turns out I had some mud INSIDE the tire *LOL* but the vibration wasn't there until around 70

only flaw to that story, that tire has already been swapped out with the spare I got from the junk yard, yes it is balanced, and holds air, had it for about as long as the car (full size spare)

(edit) a couple of extra details that may or may not help, 1) the vibes dissappear when coasting, 2) the car has recently been in a wreck with no apparent problems until about a month after the wreck(body shops here are backed up, i'm still getting the welding supplies, lol)
