Default Battery Test

Recently had my oil changed (2007 honda accord v6) and my battery test yielded these results..... 12.9 V....340cca....battery rated at 490cca..... do I really need a new battery now? Its only 3 years old.

Your decision, but ask yourself a few questions.

Do you live where it gets cold in the winter?
- (if not then you might not need all of 490cca)

Would you be REALLY upset if your battery died?
- (my cars are manual trans so I can start them by popping the clutch)
- (I'd probably wait but if it was my wife's car I'd replace it now cause I might have to sleep in the garage if HER car dies)

Would the price of a new battery break the bank?
- (spend some time looking around for the best price?)

Level of inconvenience vs. level of DIY ability?
- (wait for the battery to die then take it out yourself, use another car(?) to carry the battery to the store & buy another)

I used to think that batteries normally give some warning and they don't fail suddenly & completely. Then my last 2 battery failures WERE sudden and complete.

Also if you bought that battery and it's going to need replacement...it more than likely will still have some value in $$$$ left if you have that paperwork..
