Default Best Spark Plugs

Hello All,

Great site I use this one and www.hondasuv.com for my CRV.

I have a 2001 Accord LX (vTEC) with 106k miles. I need to replace the plugs and don't want to pay $10/each at the dealer. What is the best plug at a reasonable cost.

Is NGK or Denso OEM for this car? Are these the right platinum plugs: NGK ZFR5F-11?

I'm not looking for high performance, I'm looking for most dependable.

Thanks!

Dr.Bones

Welcome to the forum!

Stick with NGK Plugs... I've heard that denso is a good plug as well but I don't have any personall experience with them. Stay away from Bosh, it'll eventually toast your coil. I run just plain old NGK V-Power plugs and the burn even and the car runs great... That part # you posted looks correct but I'm not 100% sure... I'd probably just go to your local parts store and get some v-power plugs and a gap gauge

Densos are good plugs too. They came stock in some hondas.

Unless you have seriously modified your car, Honda OEM plugs are the way to go.

0.039- 0.043. gap them to the smallest setting. ,, cause as plug wears gap gets wider

So, you're saying that if I have the Bosch Platinum+4 I made a wrong decision (long before I found these forums)? Are they worth replacing (do they really cause problems), or should I just keep them?
