Bisimoto Stage 2 cam timing

I have had a F22B1 with a Bisimoto stage 2 cam and gear for a while now and i have been running with straight up timing. It runs and pulls great for just a cam upgrade but i still feel like the timing is off. is there a fairly easy way to figure this out? or does anyone have a similiar set up and if so what is your timing set at?

When checking the timing with a light, what is it reading? Be sure the service connector is jumped when doing this.

I checked it with a real old timing light that i had laying around after i put it in awhile ago and it looked a little off, but what do you mean by service connector?

The 96 is OBD-II from the factory....I'm going to guess you have not changed it.

There is the data port behind the ash try and also still the old OBD-I two pin service connector behind the glove box.

Ok thought thats what you were talking about just wanted to make sure, il have to buy a new timing light (other one disappeared) and recheck it. I know how to bypass the obd1 connector but not the obd2 one without one of those cel checkers does it matter which one i use?

Best to stick with the ODB-I service connector.......without a scan tool there are ways to do this but since you are lucky enough to have the other option....use it :)
