The book states 2.2 qt for transmission oil, can I just put in 2?

I have a 2017 accord coupe manual transmission V6.

The book states 2.2 qt for transmission oil, can I just put in 2? Just asking cause I've watched videos on changing the fluid and everyone stated that 2qt was needed.

Honda also sells these by the quart, so one would have to to buy 3 in order to use .2 out of the 3rd quart.

With a small volume, the difference is 10%. I just changed my MT fluid and bought the third qt.

If you want to use just two new quarts, I'd probably us a fine filter like a coffee filter on the old transmission fluid to remove particulates and top off the transmission.

Thank you! I appreciate your advice.

Need help locating transmission fluid bolt to empty

I'm learning, so I took a picture of what I believe is the transmission bolt to drain out the transmission, I circled it in red. Is this correct?https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hon...93b44da4e0.jpg

That is the drain bolt. You will want to find the fill bolt and remove it first, so you know you can refill the transmission before draining it.

The fill bolt on the V6 is on top of the transmission. You should also locate the check bolt on the side of the transmission (further up from the drain bolt, facing the drain bolt head, to the right side).

Essentially 3 bolts for proper draining, filling, and level check.

interesting. I was looking at videos and they all show the drain bolt on the bottom side of the transmission, but you're saying it is on the top. The top side is supposed to be the fill bolt or fill plug. So, if you don't mind, are you saying to drain the transmission, this drain bolt is on the top of the transmission?

I had a typo, I meant the fill bolt is on top.
