Exclamation Bought a 95 accord lx for $500

Hello HAF!

I recently bought a 95 accord lx 4cyl a/t with over 200k miles on the clock. The previous owner didnt want to deal with it anymore, he said it needs a head gasket job, presence of white thick smoke and sometime having a hard time starting.

The car has bnew falken tires, new WT and Timing belt. New caps and wires. New hoses and radiator. New brake master and cylinder. And new sparkplugs.

My questions is, i plan to give it a head gasket job but i dont want to spend dealer price on parts, any suggestions where i can get the head gasket kit? Whats the oem part#? And can someone tell me the oem brand aswell?

Thank you in advance.

OEM is from Honda Parts. I don't know their supplier.

I used Felpro on my 94 EX headgasket and their product is fine IMO. It's now been several years w/ no problems. Felpro is available from many sources. Check for best prices.

I've found over the head gasket jobs I've done (4) that paying for head rebuiding (valves reseated, new valve stem seals, crack detection, and flushing the head), that this is best way to insure no problems. Follow head gasket installation instructions carefully.

good luck
