Default Brake noise/ rear deck vibration

This past weekend I installed rear brake pads on my 08 Accord. They were squeeking pretty bad before I ripped the wheels off. The pads were not yet to the wear indicators but I changed them anyways because I was in there and had the new pads. The noise went away at higher sppeds but is still there at lower speeds. (wear on old pads were even, and yes i used the anti-vibration grease on back of new pads) Anyone else have this problem?

Also, I have noticed a vibration noise coming from the rear speaker deck. I am not sure if this noice had always been there so not sure how long its been goign on. I just noticed it this past weekend as well. Anyone?

One of the key requirements to install rear pads is to insure the piston piston + slot is aligned w/ the tab on the pads. If not, the pads will be cocked and may cause steel pad to contact rotor.

Did you compress the pistons by rotating w/ tool of some sort? A forced compression may damage the caliper and cause problems.

good luck

Me, two things.

First, the rear pads on the '08 had issues. Ask you Honda dealer for a copy of the TSB. There is a check of the caliper pins, lube them and also something about the hardware,,,,its late, sorry.

Then for the rear deck, same thing...ask the dealer for the TSB. Something about the rear shelf rubbing on the metal deck.

Both of these issues have been covered...in fact I'm surprised you didn't get a letter about the pads....some sort of law suit.
