Brakes Soft When It's Hot

When it's hot my 95 Accord's brakes get soft. The best way I can describe it is when I come to a complete stop and press on the brake pedal my car stops, but as I have pressure on the pedal it continues to compress. This seems to happen when the weather is very warm, any feedback would be great.

Check that the brake fluid is at the proper level. If the brake fluid is ok, then the brake master cylinder is starting to fail internally.

thank you for the advice sir.

could it also be the brake fluid is dirty or oxidized?

Thanks

I have this exact same problem in my 95 Accord wagon. I would be interested to know what the problem is as well. I was just going to start replacing things until it was fixed, but if someone can save me some time and money, that would be nice.

If the pedal sinks smoothly & slowly to the floor, as you hold the brakes at a red light; that's CLASSIC for a failing master cylinder. For some reason it's common for this to be worse as the under-hood temperatures get hotter.

Bleeding fresh fluid sometimes helps, but it's usually temporary. The only REAL fix is a new master cylinder.
