Default Broken connector wires ?

I replaced a leaking oil cooler O-ring on my daughter's 91 Accord yesterday (2.2 litre, 4dr EX). Took it out for a road test, jacked it up one last time to check for leaks and noticed a couple of broken wires on a connector adjacent to the oil filter. I didn't have time to fix it ... seems to be tee-d off a heater hose. Can anyone tell me what it is for? (photo attached)

Default RE: Broken connector wires ?

Is any system not working, check engine light, or brake system warning?

I have a 90Ex manual and looked at AC and power steering systems. The picture suggestsa pressure switch on steering hose, but could not find in 90 Accord manual. AC pressure switch is on front side of engine.

Heater system doesn't have any pressure or temp switches that I could find either.

I checked power distribution for a Red/Wht or Red/Silver wire and found nothing.

Possibly a brake system switch for ABS, if you have ABS. The 90 Accord did not have ABS.

Hopefully someone knows.

good luck

that looks like the p.s. pressure switch. it's there so the engine rpm raises when the p.s. system is under load. if the rpm ever fluctuates while parking or turning the wheels at a stop or the engine stalls while parking or turning the wheels at a stop, that wire needs to be repaired to fix that.

it's common for that wire to break on the previous generation odysseys but the engine never stalls on the v6.

The p.s. connection makes sense, thanks for all the tips. It should be an easy enough fix, glad to know its not critical. ...... JB
