A common cause of your problem (cooling failing when fully warmed) is too large ac clutch plate gap. This prevents the magnetic field from exerting enough force to pull the plate closed. A good test when compressor is not engaging (if you can access clutch plate) is to rap the plate sharply w/ a stick while engine is running. If clutch immediately closes and compressor begins to cool, too large clutch gap is confirmed.

Fix may be problematic. You must access the clutch plate to remove (1-6mm, 10-mm socket size bolt), remove the clutch plate, remove one of the shims under the clutch plate (generally thinnest), and reinstall. Check clutch plate gap to meet your spec, usually around 0.020-inch, +/-0.005-inch. You may have to remove the compressor from it's mounting to access clutch w/o discharging and disconnecting ac hoses.

As always a Honda shop manual is your best guide.

good luck
