Default Car dumbie questions

I'm having some gear shifting problems...it goes up to 4K rpm's before it shifts, what should I do

I drive a 2001 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl

also, about timing belts....my friend says its about every 60K they should be replaced is that true? and...I bought the car at 73K and I'm now at 89K, is there any way I can find out w/o someone looking at it to find out if it was replaced at 60K

Thanks,

have a great one!

i have a 01 honda accord ex v6. my tanny was doing the samething also and sometimes it pretty hard for the gears to engage. i brought it to the dealership and they replaced my tranny under warranty. i am pretty sure your car is under warranty also becasue all the 00-02 accord tranny has a warranty for them because the tranny was recalled. so i would take it to the dealership and have them check it out.

automatic? I would have the honda dealer check it out as the trans is under a 100K warranty. Belt is due at 8 years or 105K under normal driving conditions.

I'm not sure about my car's warranty. I bought it June of 05' at 73K miles and I'm now at 89K b/c of school. Most of my car's miles are hwy miles, when I go home its 300 miles there and another 300 back. The dealership told me that the girl that had it before me drove to and from work on hwy miles in 4 years. It was a bargain when I bought it...

Because of the 00-02 recall, would it be covered? I can't afford to pay out of pocket for a new transmission

Belt is due in 09' or 105K??

Thanks, have a great day

2001 accords (all of them) are covered under 100K or 7 year powertrain warranty.

yes T-belt is 8 years OR 105K miles under normal driving conditions. Severe would be 60K miles. Severe is considered

all stop and go
driving in extremely hot weather
excessive idle
driving in winter time.
dusty conditions

Savage title encompasses all other titles that mean the car is jink for example

Flooded
Damaged beyond repair
damage exceeeds X% of car's value
theft (sometimes not though)
manufacturer's buy back (lemon)

if the car was wrecked and declared "totalled" (more damage than it was worth and the insurance company paid for the car basically...) then it gets a salvaged title. Just give your local dealership a call and let them know what is going on and ask if they'll replace it or what you need to do
