Default car losing power

Ok, heres the deal... At around 110mph or 4000 rpms the cars starts losing power. Its seems like if i stoped flooring the car which is not true because the pedal is all the way in.

By the way it has a cold air intake.

Maybe it's the governor slowing it down when it hits 110mph? Maybe you shouldn't be going 110mph[8D]

no its not the governor... the fastest the cars ever been is like 130 and it still kept going down.
Its not every day that im doing 110, its sometimes when you go wide open throttle for a couple of seconds and just let go.

Now, you guys dont have any idea whats going on with the car?? I thought maybe it could be the cold air intake getting to hot or the filter being dirty. The first time it did this i had been driving for like 50 miles agressive... there i can understand the CAI being hot but yesterday i had been driving for about 15 miles at 80 mph... the car when perfectly up to 110 or 4000 rpms in 4th and then the rpms started dropping slowly.... theres got to be a real problem to it!

wietgr, i take extreme care of my car. the cars 8 years old and it still is wax on a regular basis, i never go past the oil change mileage, i baby my tranny... check fluids like every week... i dont think the past owner gave her much love so, its my job to do that.

Does this only happen at 110, as in it doesnt happen at 4000rpm in any other gear?

Has this happened repeatedly, or just a one-time occurence?

It has happened 3 times... but hey, its not every day that you are doing 110... I noticed the problem about a month ago but i thought o well maybe the CAI is hot because brakes were fading a little bit so i thought i was pushing it a little to much but then it happened this friday and on saturday. both times I just barely made it to 110 and the car started loosing rpms and as soon as that happened I took my feet of the gas and resume normal speed....
