Default Car wont charge and threw a p0141

Hey guys i have a 96 accord ex......I had a voltage draw on my car and found out it was the flip down monitor soooo removed the fuse for it and boosted my car at work. When i left i barely made it home....when i started it I got P0141 Code for the O2 sensor. Well thought it was just a bad 02 sensor so figured ahhh i'll change it on payday...well my car lost all power.....figured ok the alternator went too. Installed the new one(bench tested first) still not charging....replaced the battery. Still not charging???? Can anyone help me here????????anyone run ionto this problem....need help ASAP. My alternator doesnt put out 1 single volt. After starting the car with a fully charged battery it's at 11.5 V and works its way down. Is there a fuse or relay that controls charging????That might control my O2 at the same time???? I seen this problem with a civic in one of their forums. Is there another fuse panel under our dashes or is there just the 2? under hood and drivers kick?????

I am not an expert, but did you check the output of the alternator on car?
I did not understand what you meant by "My alternator doesnt put out 1 single volt?"
It should be approx 13 -14V dc output..

yes i know it should be roughly 13-14......all i'm getting at the alternator is the voltage of the battery. The alternator is good. I got it bench tested. The battery is good. Got a new one.......I'm stumped wich is why i posted

It's built in NO?
The alternator is 100% functional.

Have you checked the 7.5A fuse in the under-dash fuse box? Fuse 15 (100A or 80A) and Fuse 18 (50A) in underhood fuse box?

Does ECM illuminate Check Engine Light for 2 secs and turn off when keyswitch is turned to On? If not, the ECM may be damaged or confused. If not illuminating try resetting ECM by pulling BackUp fuse in underhood fuse box for 20 secs.

Don't think PO141 is related, but need to fix alternator first, reset ECU and see what happens.

good luck

Under DASH??? So there is a 3rd fuse panel????? all fuses in the drivers kick and under hood are good. Unplug Ecu fuse....wouldnt taking the battery out the car for 30 minutes do the same thing? i'll check the cluster light when i get home from work and let u know ok.

Under-dash and KickPanel are same fuse box.

Suggest downloading the 94-97 Accord manual from links on this site. There are a couple of page of diagnostics.

A key test is 12V on the blk/yel wire at the alternator. No voltage would suggest a fuse issue, open wire, or damaged connector.

Yes, disconnecting negative cable of battery for 20 secs will reset the ECU.

good luck

There's a signal wire going to the alternator ("C" wire maybe?). The ECU will use that to command the alternator to STOP charging. When the voltage is good, and the ELD is measuring very little power usage, the ECU will do that to improve fuel consumption.

So... with that manual (wiring drawings) you should find that wire (I don't know what color). Open circuit will allow the alternator to function as you'd expect. The ECU will short that wire to ground when it wants to command the alternator to shut down. Check whether that wire is pinched to ground or insulation rubbed bare or something like that.
