Hi Richard I was wondering the same about you. I have not had any luck finding the answer. It seems to me the the answers aren't definitave.I'm leaning towards the dealer to find my problem. The one other thing that I did notice is that in the control box when the car is idleing something is clicking on and off and it does make the idle a little more shakey but not to the point where it stalls.I'm wondering that when under power if this same clicking is taking place and stalling the car.I can keep the car running by raceing the engine up and then it will idle fine. Sorry I couldn't be more positive.

You can probably take it to a shop and have it cleaned and resealed. I did that for my 68 Datsun Roadster and it cost me 50.00 bucks. I believe there is a screen filter on the fuel pump which is inside the tank. Maybe that is plugged. But why would it cause your (my) problem after the car is at operating temprature. Maybe we should do a volume test on the pump itself.

I hear what your saying about the problem happening only when the car gets hot.I started my car this evening and took off while it was cold and went up a very steep hill I would estimate to be at least one eighth of a mile and no starving for gas no bucking.Looking at my slip from the dealer it seems either I forgot to mention the warm part or when I was telling the tech my symtoms he said sounds like a bad tank and never let me finish with the symtems.

Any luck with your car? I haven't had the chance to look any further at mine.

check your ignition module
yeah I'm sure of that or the flux capacitor !!!

The one thingI haven't seen mentioned in this thread is the choke pull off on the top front passengerside of the carb.
Test it by removing the breather[cold engine] plug all the vaucum lines on the passenger side of the carb. Start the engine and pinch off the 2 short vacum lines going to the pull off diaphram, you should see the choke plate pull open.

what is the weather like where you reside ?? I am wondering if it is carb icing...........chk to make sure that the hot air/cold air door on the air cleaner is open and letting hot air into the carb ,,
remove the air cleaner lid and make sure that when engine is hot , the door is up, letting hot air in ,if it is down chk to make sure there is vacc at the hose , or that the diaphram is holding vacc or make sure that diaphram rod is attached to door

Hi all I'v drained some gas from my tank and found lots of rust.I also found another problem that I will also deal with, whitch is the fuel line. The fuel line that goes from the tank to inside the body is very rusty and will need to be replaced also.I think I will run the fuel line under the car and attach it with clips and then undercoat everything.I ordered a new fuel tank along with new straps from Discount Radiators.com. The price shipped was just shy of $138 dollars and that's a new tank.I think this will solve my problem, and I will be sure to post my results. After all the guessing and wondering about what could be wrong I think this is the solution,it acts just like a clogged fuel filter. I think the filter or screen on the fuel pumpmay be where the rust is stopping the flow of fuel. The other two fuel filters are pretty clear.

OK so now I've pulled the fuel tank and actually looked inside it.Well it seems as though the dealer I brought the car to led me down the wrong path.I didn't see any rust ,no dirt of any kind.I think what led me to think there was rust in the tank is that when I pulled the drain plug when the gas was draining out it ran along the tank and washed dirt and undercoating into the bucket.making me believe the tank was full of rust.Wow that was long winded.Ok any ideas as to what the problem may be?
