Check Engine Light, but no codes
I have a 2004 Accord V6 that is in great running conditions. 129k, new timing belt, consistent oil changes, etc.
Recently the Maint Req'ed, Parking Brake, Check Engine and Traction Control lights came on. I took the car to the local auto parts store to try to see if I cold pull any codes from the ECU to see if something was not functioning properly, but no codes were returned. Everything looked good. Any ideas why all those lights/icons are lit up on my dash? I'm trying to avoid taking the car to the dealer to have them charge me $100 to turn off the lights |
Symptoms may be due to battery, battery connections, charging system, etc.

Sounds simple but check the brake fluid in the reservoir. The computer system is somewhat complex in your car and if the parking brake light is on then start with that. It could also be the brake fluid sensor in the reservoir that is sticking and causing faulty readings. Either one could potentially cause two of your issues, otherwise it might be related to something in the braking system such as the brake booster or the ABS pump assembly. Rule out the mechanics first and then figure out if it is electrical.

Very helpful, thanks for the help RedBull-1 and Turtlehead. I think it might be the brake fluid sensor as there's plenty of fluid in the reservoir.
I also learned that my car is included in the airbag recall, so another item to investigate with Honda. |
