Default Collapsing power steering hose

I have a 1994 Accord Ex 4 cyl coupe. I start it up and let it run for about a minute and it begins doing the RPM surging thing about every 5 seconds. One of the hoses on the power steering collapses completely flat. Are the two problems related? Can a faulty power steering pump cause either of the problems? Any insights leading to resolution will be DEEPLY appreciated.

Default RE: Collapsing power steering hose

Use the link in my signature below to search "surging idle", this is most likely a dirty Idle Air Control Valve.

The power steering hose you mention is likely the hose on the suction side of the pump (this hose goes from the pump to the bottom of the power steering fluid reservoir), the other side is the pressure side. Probably isn't an issue.
