Default Considering Buying a 2002 EX Coupe 281K

Highlights from Carfax 38K - Starter replaced 164K - "transmission checked" - Not sure what this means 172K - all fluids flushed and refilled 211K - Timing Belt and Water Pump replaced 230K - brakes resurfaced and replaced 240K - engine module checked 5/11 - transmission fluid and transmission serviced There are also a lot of "recommended service performed" entries in the carfax which I understand mean that whatever Honda recommends for a car at that mileage was done. I am meeting with the owner tomorrow morning to take a look at the car and talk with him. I've read that the 2002 Accord had transmission issues and some starter issues. Besides transmission and starter what other issues repairs and maintenance should I ask about? For an Accord with this mileage should I be concerned about the head gasket or the brake lines developing leaks? Michigan is not kind to cars overall. I have seen pictures of it and it looks pretty good. Didn't see both sides but it does not have the rust around the rear wheel. Based on the Carfax this car was maintained religiously which is why I am interested in it even though it's high mileage. I've only owned Hondas because they are great cars and run forever if they are maintained. Could I expect to get another 100K out of it? What types of things could go wrong? Thank you in advance.

the 98-02 have bad transmission problems.
Also that is pretty high mileage.
I would not pay anything for that car.
How much is the asking price?

Is this an automatic or manual transmission?

The talk is the early weakness of the AT in those years.
If you are aware of that, and can stomach the car discard (or tranny replacement) at some unknown mileage, heck yes.

I've bought two cars over the years that were throw-away cars, if the worst happened, and
neither time did the worse case scenarios came to pass.
Son still has one of them, although it's on life support ...
